Introduction To Chinese Mandarin HSK 1

The table of  Chinese Radicals list around 214 radicals for the Chinese characters by stroke counts. 

Chinese radicals are used to index the characters for Chinese dictionaries. Chinese Radicals are  the building blocks of Chinese characters.

Chinese Radicals are organized based on  number of strokes into a chart called the bushou. 

A radical by itself may also represent a word.

With Chinese radicals, individuals can search for characters in a dictionary without even  knowing the pronunciation. 

By learning the most common radicals students can guess the meaning of new Chinese characters they encounter and memorize them.

Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì

This is the Chinese Mandarin Language Proficiency level test. The exam is broken down into six different levels. HSK Level 1-6.

HSK 1 is the most basic while HSK6 is the most advanced. 

 Just like learning Spanish or French in school, you may have  learnt about the accent above the letters and how they affect the sound or pronunciation of the word.

In Chinese Mandarin language words written in Chinese pinyin  have similar symbols in their structure above some of the vowels to help with pronunciation, differentiation and recognition of the word.

 These symbols are also called diacritics and are used to set the tone or pronunciation of the word. The diacritics written above the vowels  also change the meaning of a word.
